Mental health training for professionals working with people with chronic illnesses
Our mission is to make the world a more compassionate and empathetic place for chronically ill people through education, awareness, and community.
We work with professionals in mental health, healthcare, social care, and education, as well as chronically ill people and their loved ones, to provide them with the knowledge, resources, and confidence they need to tackle the mental health issues and social challenges chronically ill people face.
Our training courses for professionals aim to improve outcomes for chronically ill patients, clients, and service users, and equip professionals with the knowledge and tools they need. A portion of the profits from our workshops and training programmes goes towards creating free and accesible education, support, and community for people living with chronic illness.
We are still in the process of building Visible Empathy, but we want it to be a hub for professionals and non-professionals alike to build a compassionate and supportive community, and work together to make the world a more empathetic place for chronically ill people.
You may have heard people talk about their chronic illness, raise awareness for invisible illnesses, or come across references to energy limiting conditions, but what is the difference, and where is the overlap between them?
When working with people with these types of conditions, it’s important to know what is being referenced, as each term has its own nuance and foregrounds a particular experience, as well as there being considerable overlap.
